What is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania about?
Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, or Scott Lang, was last seen in Avengers: Endgame when they defeated Thanos with practically every living character in the MCU.
Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Scott’s daughter, has built a satellite that transmits a message into the quantum world. Janet van Dyne, Hope’s mother, is horrified (Michelle Pfeiffer). She has spent decades living in the small universe and knows its risks.
How is He Who Remains related to the sequel trilogy? We have you covered right here. If it isn’t clear, Majors stated that the two characters are distinct: “Not in Ant-Man is He Who Remains. Kang is here.”
Sure enough, the family is quickly drawn into the quantum world. But, unfortunately, there they meet a host of shady characters, including Kang the Conqueror, who promises to help them get home in exchange for their help in what is certain to be a sinister conspiracy.
You virtually hit the jackpot if you believe Kang’s house looks like a cross between Wakanda and historical Egypt. But, what the time-traveling villain lacks in physical superpowers, he makes up for with genius-level intelligence and an enormous arsenal of weapons across space and time.
Online speculation has been rife that Ant-Man will be slapped with the same figurative boot as Kang in the future film, but we’ll know the destiny of the ant clan once the film hits theaters in February 2023.
