In collaboration with Bioware, Netflix is developing an anime series based on the setting of the iconic Dragon Age video game franchise. The six episodes of Dragon Age: Absolution will be on Netflix in December 2022.
Dragon Age: Absolution is the third animated series of the franchise; after Warden’s Fall in 2010 and Redemption in 2011, it is going to be the most extensive Dragon Age animated series.
The announcement of the show comes as fans eagerly await the next game in the series, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The future RPG has been in production for years and has made odd cameos at numerous gaming events; however, it has yet to appear on the E3 2022 schedule. Even the official title was released a few weeks ago.
When will Dragon Age: Absolution be available on Netflix?
Unfortunately, Netflix has not announced a selected release date for Dragon Age: Absolution. We can, however, affirm that the series will be released in December 2022.
We’ve heard that the series is now targeting a Netflix premiere date of December 9, 2022.
The Caste
The cast has yet to be revealed, but we expect to learn more soon. While no characters have been identified, and we do not know where the show takes place in the Dragon Age timeline, Netflix has revealed that it takes place in the Tevinter Imperium, which is also the location of the next game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. .
Mairghread Scott, who has written for shows ranging from Guardians of the Galaxy to Star Wars Resistance, is the showrunner. Scott also writes for the upcoming show Magic: The Gathering on Netflix.
Red Dog Culture House, a South Korean animation company that previously collaborated with Netflix on The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and the Good Hunting episode of Love, Death & Robots, is producing the show.
The Plot
At the time of writing, we know very little about the narrative of Dragon Age: Absolution, but we do know where it will take place.
For the first time in Dragon Age history, the Tevinter Imperium will appear on screen. Many Dragon Age fans will be looking forward to visiting Imperium Tevinter for the first time because it has only been mentioned by name in the video games.
According to Netflix, the series “includes a cast of new characters inspired by the story of Dragon Age,” including “elves, magicians, knights, Qunari, Red Templars, demons, and other unique surprises.”
How many episodes are there in Dragon Age: Absolution?
The series will include six episodes, which have been announced. However, the length and titles of the episodes have yet to be published.
