GKIDS announced the release of Goodbye, Don Glees!, an anime film by Studio Madhouse. They will distribute the film.

Goodbye Don Glees! This year’s international release will be in theatres worldwide, despite the Japanese premiere in February. The international release will include both Japanese and English dubs.

GKIDS President David Jesteadt stated that Atsuko Ishizuka’s fresh and perceptive take on the classic tale of teenage friendship was a great inspiration to us all. The director says, “We can’t WAIT for audiences to see this beautiful mixture of comedy and drama set in the days when everything seems possible.”

Teenage misfits Roma, Toto and Drop are the “Don Glees”, an informal nickname for their backyard adventures. According to the official synopsis Roma, Toto and Drop are the “Don Glees”. After being accused of starting a forest fire nearby, the trio decides to go into the woods to prove that they are innocent. The friends find out that their lives have drastically diverged as disaster strikes. Tensions rise between them as the trio sets off into the woods to prove their innocence.
