Both industry giants have given the green light to BBC-HBO’s co-production His Dark Materials Season 3. Fans who have been waiting for the next season should rejoice. Dafnekeen, the show’s star, said to Colider

“If His Dark Materials Season 3 occurs, I’m really looking forward to that. To get familiar with the book, I have read it a few times. Book 3 is my favourite book of all the books, so we should do it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed,”

“I try to not think about it because that is what I do and I really, really want to get back. Because I have known them for several years, people on set are my second family. They have seen me grow up and they are a part of my second family. I cannot wait to return. People say, “I cannot wait for vacation,” but I can’t stop filming.”

Keen is able to return to filming with the rest of her crew, which is a good thing.

Season 3 may be His Dark Materials’ last season, since the source material isn’t as extensive as HBO’s Game of Thrones. This is a great news for fans of this incredible adaptation.

His Dark Materials Season 3 will adapt The Amber Spyglass, the third book in his series.

Executive producer Jane Tranter stated to Radio Times, “The Amber Spyglass” is one of Philip Pullman’s most complex novels to adapt for TV. However, with our world-class creative staff in Cardiff, no challenge is too difficult.”

“This season is both an epic journey and a story about truth and love. Jack, Francesca, and Amelia’s scripts capture Philip’s worlds in brilliance. We are joined by our beloved cast and some extraordinary talent new to this series.

Executive producer Dan McCulloch stated, “From the moment we began season one of His Dark Materials, we had mapped all three novels in order to know where we were going.”

“Every character and detail in this amazing work of fiction have been studied and discussed for over four years, and it is exciting to finally reach the many worlds that make up The Amber Spyglass.”

It is still unclear whether the series’ final episode will depart from the book. However, the series has achieved a balance between accurate adaptation and taking liberties that makes it suitable for television.

“I wanted it to be split in two, but it’s being done in one. “You can’t always have everything you want,” Tranter said to Deadline.

“I am just greedy. I love the television’s real estate. I enjoy stories that are told slowly, so I’m more inclined to say, “Let’s really get into this.” But, in truth, that was me longing for His Dark Materials and, while The Amber Spyglass can be adapted into eight episodes, I’ll admit that I was wrong. It was something I wanted to do.

This is as certain as confirmation that His Dark Materials Season 3 won’t be the last.
