The upcoming biographical drama miniseries ‘A Small Light’ is all set to arrive with its unforgettable historical events and a few cast members committed to portraying those.
The story of this biographical drama follows the story of the brave and kind Hermine Gies or Miep who hides Otto Frank’s family including Anne Frank in an annex during the Second World War.
Miep was Otto’s secretary and was asked by him to shelter his family from the Nazis. Things were under control until her dentist also asked her about any concealment.
When Does Little Light Release?

The miniseries was first greenlit by Disney+ from National Geographic in February 2022. Susanna Fogel, Avi Nir, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Alon Shtruzmanand Peter Traugott serve as executive producers for the series.
Bel Powley was cast in the lead role of Gies in April 2022 with Liev Schreiber and Joe Cole also joining the cast.
Other cast members joined in June of that year. Production of the series began in July and filming took place in the summer between Prague, Hradec Králové, and Amsterdam.
National Geographic released the official trailer of the series on April 4 of this year on YouTube. The miniseries will premiere on May 1, 2023.

Bel Powley-

English actress Bel Powley he was cast to portray the main character Miep Gies in the series. Powley has previously acted in a number of films and tv series.
Her first major TV role was in the action series ‘MI High’ in which she played Daisy Millar from 2007 to 2008. In the 2009 miniseries, she was cast as Bel Powley.
In the sixth season of the British sitcom ‘Benidorm’, she played the main character Bianca Dyke in 2014. In 2018 Powley starred in the six-part BBC drama ‘Informer’ as DC Holly Morten.
From 2019 to 2021 she was a main cast member in the first season of the American drama series ‘The Morning Show’ playing Claire Conway. She also reprized this role as a guest cast member in the second season.
Last year he played the main character Birdy in the British comedy-drama series ‘Everything I Know About Love’.
Apart from ‘A Small Light’, Powley will also star in the upcoming war drama series ‘Masters of the Air’ in the role of Sandra Wingate.
Powley’s film credits include ‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’, ‘A Royal Night Out’, ‘Equals’, ‘Detour’, ‘Carrie Pilby’, ‘Mary Shelley’, ‘Wildling’, ‘White Boy Rick’, ‘Ashes’. in the Snow’, ‘The King of Staten Island’ etc. She was nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016 for her role in ‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’.
Liev Schreiber-

He played Otto Frank, we will see an American actor Liev Schreiber in the series. He has previously starred in a number of television series and films.
In 2003 he played Ernst Hanfstaengl in the Canadian miniseries ‘Hitler: The Rise of Evil’.
From 2013 to 2020 he portrayed the lead and titular role of Ray Donovan in the American crime drama series ‘Ray Donovan’ while also serving as a writer, producer and director.
Joe Cole-

As Miep’s husband, Jan Gies, we will see the English actor Joe Cole in the next series. Cole is familiar as John Shelby in the famous BBC period crime drama series.Peaky Blinders‘ in which he was cast as the main character from 2013 to 2017.
He was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for playing Frank in the British anthology TV series ‘Black Mirror’ in 2017.
In 2019 Cole played the lead character of Charlie in the British Channel 4 television series ‘Pure’. He was also cast as the main character Sean Wallace in the British TV series ‘Gangs of London’ in 2020.
Last year he played Harry Palmer in the British miniseries of the cold war spy thriller ‘The Ipcress File’.

As Otto Frank’s wife Anne Frank, a British-born actress Amira Casar will appear in the series. Casar previously starred as Béatrice, Madame de Clermont in the French historical fiction drama ‘Versailles’.

Anne Frank is a familiar name to people, thanks to the unparalleled and heartbreaking book ‘The Diary of a Girl’ which is probably the most famous books in the world.
New British actress Billie Boullet was cast to portray the character. She previously starred in the kids’s fantasy drama series ‘The Worst Witch’ playing Fenella Feverfew.

To see Margot Frank, Anne’s older sister Ashley Brooke. She previously appeared in single episodes of ‘The Blacklist’, ‘New Amsterdam’, ‘Bull’, ‘Bizaardvark’, and ‘The Other Two’. She also directed and starred in two shorts ‘Girls Trip’ and ‘Don’t Ask’.
