Graham Yost directed the upcoming science fiction television series ‘Silo’ adapted from the author’s Silo series of novels Hugh Howey.

The plot is set in a toxic dystopian future in which a huge silo shelters a whole community. The silo consists of hundreds of stories and is located deep underground. In that community they live under strict regulations that they’re manipulated into believing are there to protect them.

The Silo series was first announced to be in development at 20th Century Fox as a film. After being shelved because of Disney acquiring 21st Century Fox, the project was renewed again on July 30, 2018, but this time for television.

Ultimately the series moved to Apple TV+ three years later. Rebecca Ferguson was announced to have been cast in the lead role at the time of the order announcement.

Other cast members joined the series in the following months. Apple TV+ released the official trailer of the series on YouTube on April 6 this year. The series is scheduled to release on May 5, 2023.

The first two episodes will be available on the day with the remaining episodes being released weekly until June 30th.

American rapper Lonnie Rashid Lynn was cast in the role of Sims. Familiar from his stage name Commonhe has starred in a number of television series and films.

In 2009 he worked as a commentator in the documentary miniseries ‘Black for the Future’. From 2011 to 2014 he played the main character Elam Ferguson in the American / Canadian Western television series ‘Hell on Wheels‘.

As Rafiq, he starred in the American drama series ‘The Chi’ from 2018 to 2019 while also serving as an executive producer.

In 2021 he played the recurring character Dr. Chris Jackson in the popular American comedy-drama series ‘Never Have I Ever’.

As Holston, we will see in the series a British American actor David Oyelowo. Among his diverse television series, there’s ‘Star Wars Rebels’ in which he acted as a voice actor as Alexsandr Kallus from 2014 to 2018.

He also voiced the villainous lion Scar in the American animated tv series ‘The Lion Guard’ based on ‘The Lion King’. As Javert, he was cast in the British television series ‘Les Misérables’ from 2018 to 2019.

In 2021 he starred as the lead character Edward in BBC One’s four-part thriller ‘The Girl Before’.

As Pete Nichols, we will see a Scottish actor Iain Glen in the series. He is very popular as the actor who portrayed Ser Jorah Mormont in HBO’s epic fantasy series.Game of Thrones‘.

Among his previous television credits is the 1992 British-Australian television drama ‘Frankie’s House’ in which he played Tim Page, a British-Australian photographer known for his work on the Vietnam War.
