New romantic comedy film ‘Your Place or Mine’ is coming out Netflix this February and that’s also four days before Valentine’s Day. Aline Brosh McKenna directed this film whose plot revolves around two best friends.
Debbie and Peter live in LA and New York respectively. Their friendship is now twenty years old. From the trailer, it’s found that their acquaintance started with them sleeping together, even though later, they turned it into a robust friendship.
Debbie and Peter are very opposite to one another, Debbie is a single mother who is longing for a routine with her son and Peter lives a colourful life in New York.
Where Debbie’s dating life is a sort of graveyard, Peter thrives like a playboy. But when Debbie wants to pursue a lifelong dream, Debbie and Peter decide to swap houses for a week. As Peter takes on the hard work of caring for Debbie’s son and forms a bond with him, Debbie meets a man in New York who takes an interest in him.
But when she informs Peter about her new date, Peter begins to realize that he has feelings for Debbie that are more than a robust friendship. As Debbie and Peter face this new realization, their lives change with new choices.
When Will ‘Your Place or Mine’ Release?
The film was first announced in May 2020 to be directed by Aline Brosh McKenna as her directorial debut. A member of the main female cast Reese Witherspoon joined the cast in the very beginning with a member of the main male cast Ashton Kutcher joining in August 2021.
Names of other primary cast members included Tig Notaro, Jesse Williams, Zoë Chaoand Steve Zahn were announced in October of that year. Principal photography also began that month. The official trailer of the film was released on Netflix on January 13th. It is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2023.

Reese Witherspoon
American actress Reese Witherspoon has been cast as the female lead Debbie in the upcoming film. Witherspoon was nominated for two Academy Award nominations including one win. In 2006 she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the 2005 biographical drama ‘Walk the Line‘.
And in 2015 she was again nominated for the Oscar as Best Actress. This time the film that gives her that honor is the 2014 biographical adventure film ‘Wild‘. Her other notable films include ‘Little Nicky‘,’American Psycho‘,’The Importance of being serious‘,’Sweet Home Alabama‘,’Vanity Fair‘,’Delivery‘,’Water for Elephants‘,’The Devil’s League‘, ‘Inherent Vice’, ‘Home Again’, ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ etc.
Witherspoon’s most significant film role is as Elle Woods in the 2001 American comedy film ‘Legally Blonde’. Two years later she reprized this role in the sequel film ‘Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde’ and also executive produced it. Another sequel will arrive in 2023 – ‘Legally Blonde 3’ in which Witherspoon will be seen portraying forty-year-old Elle Woods.
Ashton Kutcher
American actor producer Ashton Kutcher has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming film. In 2000 he portrayed the American singer and lead vocalist of the rock band The Doors – Jim Morrison in the romantic comedy film ‘Until You‘.
In 2013 Kutcher portrays the character of Steve Jobs in the biographical film ‘Jobs’. His notable television credits include the sitcoms ‘That Seventies” as Michael Kelso, “Two and a Half Men” as Walden Schmidt, and “The Ranch“as Colt Bennett.
Other Cast
Three other important cast members of the upcoming film are Jesse Williams who will appear as Theo, the man with whom Debbie becomes involved in a romantic relationship in New York. He previously worked in films The Butler‘, ‘Jacob’s Ladder’, ‘Secret Headquarters’, etc.
But he’s best known for his role in the renowned American medical drama series ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ in which he starred as Jackson Avery from 2009 to 2022 as a recurring character in the sixth season, as the main character from the seventh season to the seventeenth season, and as a guest character in the eighteenth and nineteenth seasons season. Later in 2020 Williams reprized this role in the third season of the spin-off ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as a recurring cast member.
Stand-up comedian and actress Tig Notaro have also been cast in the upcoming film, even though his character’s name has not yet been revealed. American television and stage actress Zoë Chao he will also appear in the next film. She is best known for her role as Isobel in the comedy-drama series ‘Strangers’ and as Zoe in the murder-mystery comedy series ‘The Afterparty’.
