LG Electronics’ first product to incorporate these panels is believed to be a 27-inch OLED monitor “that can be used as a gaming monitor”, which will be available in Q1 2023. However, LG is also rumored to be planning the production of 32-inch OLED screens soon.
LG 27-inch OLED Monitor Key Features
The new OLED monitor range has two screen sizes: 31.5 inches and 27 inches. Both are 4K OLED displays with a superb contrast ratio of 1M:1. The single light-emitting pixels of the UltraFine OLED Pro displays should produce accurate visuals while adjusting every pixel of the image.
The overall contrast ratio will allow exact color accuracy without interfering with the light between pixels.
To provide a wider range of colours, both monitors support 99% DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB profiles. These are True 10-Bit screens capable of displaying a billion colours without dithering.
Both displays include ‘Hardware Calibration,’ which allows direct modifications to the monitor’s 10-bit look-up table (LUT) for improved color accuracy. In addition, the LG UltraFine OLED Pro displays have a USB Type-C port (Power Delivery up to 90W), two Display ports, three USB ports, and an HDMI port for hardware connectivity.
These 27-inch panels are intended to be used by LG in a new medium-sized monitor that will be launched in the first half of 2023. The 27-inch LG UltraFine Display OLED Pro is LG’s smallest OLED monitor. However, it uses panels from Japan’s JOLED rather than LG Display.
The visual quality of LG’s OLED screens is the best on the market. The panels excel in the basics of image quality, with a high contrast ratio and best-in-class color reproduction. The company has also added two additional monitors to its range of quality OLED panels.
Price and Availability
LG’s new Ultrafine Display OLED Pro monitors, available in two screen sizes, start at a high of $3,041.31.
Kang Won-Seok, vice president of LG Display, announced the upcoming debut of a 20-inch OLED screen in August 2022, but no such LG monitor showed up in the following months.
It’s heartening to hear that LG is working on a medium-sized OLED monitor that will be available in early 2023. If the Hankooki rumor is correct, we can expect to see this new 27-inch Display in some form during CES 2023 in January.
Conclusion
LG produces some of the best OLED TVs on the market, but gamers and stay-at-home professionals have been craving for a mid-sized LG OLED monitor for quite some time.
Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, demand for high-spec personal displays has been on the rise as customers strive to upgrade their home offices and entertainment settings in the light of work at home laws.
