Motorola Edge 30 Ultra: Motorola now competes in just about all price segments in the smartphone space, including the flagship arena. This is the first smartphone in the world to get such a high resolution sensor.
But the biggest question is whether this update is worthwhile for the end consumer. Most of the features of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra were designed to deliver the ultra-flagship experience, making it an intriguing phone.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra: Price
Following its debut in Milan on 8 September 2022, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is now available for purchase in the UK and Europe. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is priced quite competitively.
With prices starting at just £749.99/€899.99, that makes it barely cheaper than the 2022 flagships from Samsung, Oppo, and company. This is true even although the device offers premium features and specifications.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is probably the most fashionable smartphones available right now. Although many OEMs are choosing not to use it, it gives the device a feeling of beauty.
The aspect ratio of the Edge 30 Ultra is narrow, and fits my hand well. The smartphone weighs just below 200g and measures 8.39mm thick while having a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 finish on the back and front.
The screen of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has curved edges on all sides that join the thin metal frame. Because the pOLED panel is flexible, the bezels around the display are thin all around.
The matte finished, highly slippery metal frame is made of metal. The right side of the phone is where the power button and volume rocker can be found.
The overall number of megapixels on the sensors of the Moto Edge 30 Ultra is breaking records. The main image capture responsibilities are handled by the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 200MP sensor. A Sony 12MP depth camera supporting 2X telephoto zoom and a 50MP Samsung GN5 ultra-wide sensor are also available.
Speaking of daylight shooting abilities, the primary shooter captures excellent details because of its 1/1.22-inch sensor and 2.56-m pixel size. The default pictures are 12.5MP photos that merge 16 pixels into one using ultra-pixel binning.
What’s more intriguing is that it did not put numerous lenses on the back of the phone that serve no actual use. A break from both its regular model and the model of so many other phone manufacturers. You only have one primary camera with a 12 megapixel photo or telephoto 2x zoom lens and a 50 megapixel ultrawide lens.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a component found in all the top Android phones that will debut in late 2022. Since it’s the most powerful Qualcomm chipset currently available, you get more power, speed and battery life than what an 8 Gen 1 chip from the previous generation can provide.
In addition, other aspects of performance are fast. Motorola introduced an excellent fast charging method, similar to Oppo and Xiaomi. The most recent version of TurboPower, with 125W, can fully recharge an empty battery in about 20 minutes.
The Moto Edge 30 Ultra has a 4,600mAh battery, which is supported by a 120W fast charger that’s filled with the device. Battery life shouldn’t be a difficulty because Motorola’s software is quite clean and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is famous for its energy efficiency.
