The Bad Guys was released on Netflix on November 1, 2022. DreamWorks Animation Studios has seen ups and downs with its movies, with a diversified bag of cartoon projects that range from the biggest highs to the average lows.
The company is responsible for some of the best (and most enduring) animated films, including How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, and Shrek. Each of these films had a unique visual aesthetic that combined golden characters and dramatic storytelling.
The Bad Guys Review
The Bays Guys are a group of crooks who love their reputation and the criminal sprees they commit around the major metropolis.
They live the high life by being bad. As the group deals with personality conflicts and disagreements, Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), Mrs. Tarantula (Awkwafina), and Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) are united by their unique thieving abilities.
Knowing that the renowned Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade) is about to receive the Gold Dolphin award, the Bay Guys try to steal the expensive award during the ceremony in an effort to humiliate Police Chief Misty Luggins (Alex Borstein) and to the recently appointed Governor Foxington. (Zazie Beetz).
When the heist goes awry, Marmalade offers the ragtag crew of thieves lessons in how to be good as a new kind of rehabilitation in an effort to win their hearts and show that fundamental change is feasible…irrespective of the individual.
Although Wolf at first ignores the problem and participates in Marmalade’s fields, he later realizes that positive methods work, which puts him at odds with the other members of his team who are less interested in this. the exact training. So, the question still stands: Can a bad man become good?
The opening of “The Bad Guys” includes draining the bank as a method to establish the squad and their individual abilities. Mr. Shark is a master of hide and seek, Mr. Shark is the brains, Mr. Snake is the safecracker, Ms. Tarantula is the tech specialist, Mr. Piranha is the brawn with a hair-raising temper, and Mr. Wolf is the mastermind.
The police are well aware of their operations, and Chief Luggins (Alex Borstein) is angry that you cannot catch the crooks and is aggressively pursuing them.
Of course, this brings me back to discuss The Bad Guys, the newest animated picture from DreamWorks Animation Studios, due out in 2022.
To be quite honest, I did not really create a buzz for this movie or anything like that. I used to work in a bookstore and that I remember seeing the titles of these books by author Aaron Blabey, so I believe I remember hearing that a movie was going to be made based on a famous kids’s series (even though I never picked them up and read them).
That pretty much sums it up. The trailer for the film, which I believe I saw quickly, appeared to be quite basic and shows the main actors of the feature, who are all bad guys, trying to be nice.
