The Honor 90 is not only comparatively large at 6.7 inches, but also offers a resolution of 2664 x 1200 pixels.

For a low price, the Honor 90 has a large display, large storage capacity, and a large battery.

The Honor 90 beats its low price with a smooth design and amazing display, and its powerful main camera is also Instagram-worthy. You will must put up with an unattractive plasticky look, and there are not any extras like wireless chargers or waterproofing, but the price is still reasonable.

Avoid it if you prefer more natural-looking photo quality or extended software update support. Also not available to customers in the United States.

Honor 90 Review: A Competent Inexpensive Phone!

The Honor 90
Honor

The Honor 90 weighs more than its predecessor, but feels just as snug in the hand, at 161.9mm x 74.1mm x 7.8mm.

The design has not changed significantly from the Honor 70, aside from a slight change of the two camera rings and the rounded corners of the phone, which make it just as easy to hold and use it with one hand.

The Honor 90 is available in three colours: Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Diamond Silver, with the latter only available on the Honor website. In the UK, the green model is the only one that comes with both memory/storage options.

Honor claims that the Honor 90 is made of “highly reinforced glass”, which increases its sturdiness.

Display

The Honor 90

Honor has put a robust emphasis on the display of the Honor 90. The Honor 90 is not only comparatively large at 6.7 inches, but also offers a resolution of 2664 x 1200 pixels.

Honor also has its typical set of special functions for maintaining eye health. Honor says that the PWM dimming of 3,840Hz makes the display less flickering and therefore less strain on the eye, as does Dynamic Dimming & Circadian Night Display, which adjust the colour and brightness of the screen during the day.

This contributes to the Honor 90, which is more snug to use for extended periods without hurting your eyes or affecting your sleep than a traditional mobile device display.

Price and Availability

The Honor 90

The Honor 90 is available in two memory options in the UK: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.

The former costs £449.99, and the latter £499.99, and both are available now from Honor direct. The Honor 90 will be available through Amazon, Very, and Currys on July 19th and Three on July 26th.

Camera

The Honor 90
Honor

The Honor 90 has a triple camera system that includes a 200MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor to help the camera in determining the distance properly.

During the day, photos are unsurprisingly good, with attractive colours and lots of clarity from the high-resolution sensor.

There’s no telephoto lens here, but the camera app provides a shortcut to 2x digital zoom from the primary lens, which should come in useful in a pinch.

The 12Mp ultrawide sounds less remarkable on paper, but it only works so long as the light is enough. When it gets dark, it suffers because it isn’t worth using in bad light.

Battery

The Honor 90
Honor

Regarding battery life, the Honor 90 has an enormous 5,000mAh battery.

Honor claims that the Honor 90 will provide up to 19.5 hours of continuous local video streaming, which has so far proved true in my tests. In all, aside from the most demanding use situations, the phone will survive a full day without effort.

In terms of charging, the phone offers 66W wired charging. Unfortunately, the Honor 90 doesn’t have wireless charging capability, and even though this isn’t something we expect from a mid-range device, its absence keeps the phone from being truly wonderful.

Performance

The Honor 90

The Honor 90 is equipped with Qualcomm’s ‘Accelerated Edition’ Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. The Honor 90 can easily handle the rigours of surfing, streaming, and gaming.

While there’s a slight drop in performance when many power-hungry applications are open at the same time, a typical user is unlikely to put the phone through comparable rigors.

Final thoughts

Even compared to other fairly priced midrange phones, the Honor 90 is a steal. The vast display, long-lasting battery, and high-resolution primary camera provide lots of phone for your money, even if the overall photo quality falls a little short.

The Honor 90 is definitely worth considering, particularly if you want the most display size, storage capacity, and battery life for your money.
