Sandman, which was the first DC Comics Vertigo line, ran for 75 issues. Gaiman’s worlds within-worlds created an episodic anthology that focused on Dream and his siblings, The Endless (Death and Desire, Despair and Delirium), Destruction and Destruction.

A new trailer and poster were unveiled during Netflix’s Geeked Week. The teaser gives viewers a closer look into Dream, the Lord and the Dreaming and the work that he will have to do in order to regain his power.

Stephen Fry is the voice of Gilbert (Wilde); Patton Oswalt is the voice of Matthew the Raven (Ratatouille) and Jenna Coleman is Johanna Constantine (Doctor Who). Mason Alexander Park and Sandra James Young will play Desiree and Despair.

Gaiman (American Gods), the series’ live-action creator, will be directed and produced by Allan Heinberg (“Wonder Woman”, Grey’s Anatomy). David S. Goyer, executive producer of Warner Bros. Television’s drama “Batman Begins”, Foundation, is producing the series.
