The Swimmers Plot Speculations

Yusra Mardini, a teenage refugee from Olympia, is at the center of this story. Along with her sister, Sara, she is credited with bringing a dinghy full of other refugees to safety across the Aegean Sea.
Yusra and Sara Mardini were forced to flee their homeland of Syria in 2015 when the civil war caused the destruction of their family home. They traveled to Turkey from Lebanon, where they arranged to be smuggled into Greece on a dinghy.
The duo, together with two others who could swim, were in control of saving the lives of the people on board when the engine of the overcrowded dinghy failed while the migrants were in the middle of the Aegean Sea. The True Story Behind The Movie The Swimmers

Many people have been forced to flee for their safety as a result of the civil war that engulfed Syria in 2015 and claimed hundreds of lives. Unfortunately, Yusra and Sarah Mardini, who grew up in the suburbs of Damascus, were in the same circumstance.
The sisters and two other passengers were forced to swim next to the overcrowded boat until they arrived in Lesbos after it broke down in the middle of the Aegean Sea.
They ultimately made their home in Berlin with their parents, who had also fled Syria at the same time. Sarah was forced to end her swimming career as a result of an unforeseen shoulder injury sustained during the accident.
After swimming at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Yusra continued the sisters’ goal by beating four other swimmers in a 100m butterfly heat race while representing the IOC Refugee team.
Netflix is preparing to deliver visually The Swimmers, the story of two brothers who fought their way from a war-torn nation to a new home while holding on to what little faith they’ve left.
