They Cloned Tyrone is the latest Netflix movie with producer Jamie Foxx. The film features an ensemble cast with John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Kiefer Sutherland. Director Juel Taylor teams up with Tony Rettenmaier to present a comedic sci-fi screenplay.

With the stretch, until the movie really drops, Netflix dropped a bunch of teasers and trailers to keep the fans roped in. They reveal just enough so that you want to know more without really giving anything substantial away.

The official trailer for They Are Cloned Tyrone dropped 3 weeks ago. It opens with a musical elevator ride, which already adds to the comedy element. He uncovers a mysterious underground laboratory where some kind of weird experiments appear to be taking place. Their every move is monitored, so it looks like they’re catching on.

And then, we meet the cloned Tyrone. The man, the legend, the legend itself. At first, Tyrone does not seem to take the undeniable fact that he is close but soon finds motivation to find out what’s really going on, accompanied by his elevator sidekicks – Charles and Yo-Yo.

Since the dawn of conspiracy theories, clones have been at the heart of it. Everyone has asked at least once in their life, ”what if this is uploaded and I’m a clone”, like ‘The Truman Show but not precisely.

Juel Taylors brings John Boyega as the titular character, veteran Jaime Foxx as Slick Charles, and the recently famous Teyonah Parris as Yo-Yo.

The film has been in the works for over three years. John Boyega was announced in the lead role back in October 2019. Principal photography began in December 2020 in Atlanta and lasted until February 2021. And then it was all about putting the pieces together.

They Cloned Tyrone is all set to release on December 30, 2022 on Netflix.
