Last year, the Oscars were marred by the not-so-Will Smith kind of incident. Unless you are a kid without internet or an alien from another planet, you need to know what Will did eventually year’s academy awards.
What Actually Happened?

To recap, the incident involved the actor Will Smith and the comedian Chris Rock. Chris was trying to make the audience at the 94 Oscars Academy Awards.
Chris went a little too far and turned Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith. He made a joke about her hair which the Hollywood actor did not like very much.
The Pursuit of Happyness actor reacted to the entire hair joke by going on stage and slapping Chris. This shocked everybody present there.
Chris was brave enough to react smoothly to the entire thing by making a joke out of it and absorbing the slap. The whole ceremony went on as planned afterwards.
What did the Oscars Board Answer?

The Oscars board reacted by banning Will Smith from attending the academy awards for a period of 10 years ie ten years.
The official statement made by the board was as follows, “The 94 Oscars were intended to be a celebration of the many individuals in our community who have done incredible work this past year; however, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behavior we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage.”
The statement continued, “During our telecast, we didn’t adequately address the situation in the room. For this, we are sorry. This was a chance for us to set an example for our guests, viewers, and our Academy family all over the world, and we fell short – unprepared for the unprecedented.”
The board banned Will from attending the Oscars, “The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be allowed to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to. limited to the Academy Awards.”

Since the board took harsh actions against the action of Will Smith, he isn’t allowed to attend the academy awards from 2022 to 2032.
